School is officially out for Ava.  Today was the first day of her summer break.  I would like to take a few minutes to break down what happened from the time Ava woke up until 9:30am when we left for the gym.

6am:  Ava wakes up bright and early and wakes her brother up and then they wake me up by playing loudly in Ava’s room.

7am: Breakfast is served.  Ava “helps” by moving chairs all around the kitchen so her brother and sisters can pour, stir, turn on the microwave, etc.  Her intentions were good.

7:25am:  Time to hunt for bugs that have landed in the pool and died a slow death by drowning.  This is a disturbing one they caught this morning.

At least it’s not a snake in the pool this time.

8am: sidewalk chalk in the front yard

8:05am: Ava has a great idea!!  She and Preston change into swim suits and run through our neighbors sprinklers.  An even better idea is to hold their clothes that they were wearing for the day IN THEIR HANDS while they run through the sprinklers so the clothes get soaking wet.  Preston ends up wet and freezing cold.

8:30am: I come out to find that Ava has orchestrated a landscape design project.  She has moved some huge heavy stepping stones from our path to make a new path across our neighbors’ lawn. Her intention is to create easy access when play date hopping from house to house.

8:45am:  She is asked by a frustrated mother to please remove the stones from our neighbors’ lawn and put them back where she found them.  She asks for help with the 40 pound stepping stone.  Her request is denied.

8:55am: Ava has built a fort bunk bed system using a side table and every blanket and towel she could find in the garage.  This is where the triplets lived.  They were playing house. If you look closely at the picture below you will see that Elsa is on the bottom “bunk”.

9:15am: Ava picked cherries from the orchard and put them in a bucket with mud, bark and water in order to grow a new cherry tree.

9:25: Ava was asked to clean up all of her messes so we could go to the gym.

So, no, I cannot relate to all you people who just can’t wait for school to get out.

WTF.

Until next time, the mothership is signing off.

heehee…during the summer Noah sleeps til 10. Then he makes his own breakfast, watches some TV, checks out the internet and makes plans with friends. Or not.

    The end.
