While I was in Peru, the article I wrote for Scary Mommy called The Day My Daughter Nearly Drowned Surrounded By Adults was chosen as a favorite essay on Beyond Your Blog’s Hall of Fame for May.

My drowning article on Scary Mommy has received the most Facebook shares of any of my published articles (it was at 68,000 shares last time I looked and before they overhauled their website and lost everyone’s shares and comments).

I have been wanting to write this article for a long time. What   happened to Ava in the swimming pool years ago was a real wake-up call to me about water safety. I have always felt it happened to me as a warning.

So check it out and share if you care.

Thank you to Susan Maccarelli at Beyond Your Blog and her guest editors for choosing my article.

Until next time, the mothership is signing off.
